Last time, we defined who qualifies as a Core Country for WTC (any country with a team in the top ten ('14) AND the top 6 ('13)), and looked at their team compositions faction wise.
This time, we'll look at the Competitor Countries - made up out of all those that had a team in EITHER the top 10 ('14) or the top 6 ('13). The Competitors are:
Australia*, Austria, Denmark, Germany, Scotland, Slovakia
Expected are greater swings in Faction choices, just to regurgitate that info.
*I am very well aware that the Australians did not, in fact, attend '13 WTC. So did about ten other countries. Neither Austria nor Slovakia DO attend in 2015. It may seem slightly injust, however we have to draw the line somewhere. This year's data will be vital to determine something more akin to a proper standing for those teams.
Follow me beyond the break for diachronic and synchronic analyses of these team's faction choices.

Khador 2015, Part 14 - Observations on the Core Countries
So, after we established last time that Khador is not the most rail-roaded faction with regards to listbuilding (that's Trollbloods), we'll do sth more sophisticated this time around. We'll arbitrarily group the participating countries into three categories, to make it a) easier to choose whom to bet money on, and b) observe the choices made by the more successful teams regarding list pairings, team composition and other drivel.
Follow me beyond the gap to the shenanigans, and hopefully, interesting graphics.

Seizing Command 09 - Sanctifier is over 9000
With the advent of Removed from Play: Decked Out, a particular Protectorate Deck idea I already had was brought to fruition. Back when we first started playing, I hardly ever won, yet still could boast "...but my Occupying Forces Pile is higher than yours!" That meant nothing, though.
With Invasion of Sul, PoM gets access to the Sanctifier. It's already a good piece in the tabletop, but in High Command it's downright great. For all that don't know it: It's power increases for every three cards in your Occupying Forces Pile - and thinning your deck by moving cards there kinda is PoM's shtick in WM:HC.
I will tell you all about my "Sanctifier is over 9000" deck after a short break.

Seizing Command 08 - Cygnar v. Protectorate Game Report
So, since the first report's format worked quite well, here's another one for you!
This time, I got to play Arides (who chose Cygnar) and I went with Protectorate (I know I complained about not being able to play Khador, but I somehow feel the need to play PoM in HC - even though it feels like playing Hard Mode).
Casters selected were: Siege Brisbane, Cpt. Haley, Constance Blaize for Arides, and High Reclaimer, Servath Reznik, and Vindictus for me.
Blow by blow report after the break, but just before we go there: If you have any comments, leave them!

Seizing Command 05: Kickstarter thoughts - Protectorate
Welcome to this latest (and probably last) HC article on the kickstarter variant! I'll be covering the Protectorate of Menoth now, which, in theory, with their low purchase costs, should gain a certain amount of formidability in this format. I guess we'll see how true that statement is.
The Protectorate is the only faction to currently sport not one, but two cards which are barred from being swapped in courtesy of granting a victory point: the Flameguard Cleanser Phalanx and the Deliverer Sunburst Detachment (Seriously, it would've been kinda sick otherwise).
With those out of the way, what's left?

Marth & the Machines #66 - Sorscha v. Severius
In issue #66, I'm taking a Sorscha list which is so alternate it's grunge to face Severius again. 35 points of Killbox. Enjoy!

Marth & the Machines #64 - Zerkova v. Severius
Pitting two spell-slinging anti-spell slingers against each other, the decision will likely be wrought be some other than a spell. In issue #64, Zerkova goes up against Severius, and only one will get out this head first. Enjoy!

The faded black T-shirt 01 (Tourney Update)
So, uh, been to Koblenz, participated in three rounds of Steamroller 2012, as formerly announced.
Didn't do so well, I placed 7th out of 10, which is kind of to be expected when you lose games 1 and 3. Had I won the first one, I might've made 6th, which was my personal goal. First and foremost, thanks to Cidster (the PG) and the players from the CTU LGS. Every opponent - while sometimes taking a little "getting used to" - was a blast to play against.
A short rundown:

Marth & the Machines #47: Servath Reznik v. Markus "Siege" Brisbane
Ah, it's been too long, but here it finally is. As another "Beyond Enemy Lines" report, I'm actually just giving a voice to a batrep originally done by another player of our group. Enjoy!

Warmachine - Siege Engines
So, this week Privateer Press "spoon-fed" us one major faction siege engine a day. Khador Gun Carriage, Cryx "Big Daddy Machine Wraith", Retribution Arcantrik Generator, Cygnar Storm Strider, Protectorate Vessel of Judgement. And I while I'm not going to make a final statement until I see rules, I do have an opinion.
