Most important things first: Harkevich and Krüger1 fall to Lady pZ. That's two things crossed of the World Domination List, boo-ya! *cough*
Yeah, so ClogCon happened from the 11th to the 13th, and which lists I brought, you're probably already aware if you read any of the lasts posts on this blog. ;)
Follow on to read about my games, thoughts and observations on these, as well as an evaluation of the list pair, mixed with potential changes.
Mind the gap.

Khador 2015, Part 15 - Observations on the Competitor Countries
Last time, we defined who qualifies as a Core Country for WTC (any country with a team in the top ten ('14) AND the top 6 ('13)), and looked at their team compositions faction wise.
This time, we'll look at the Competitor Countries - made up out of all those that had a team in EITHER the top 10 ('14) or the top 6 ('13). The Competitors are:
Australia*, Austria, Denmark, Germany, Scotland, Slovakia
Expected are greater swings in Faction choices, just to regurgitate that info.
*I am very well aware that the Australians did not, in fact, attend '13 WTC. So did about ten other countries. Neither Austria nor Slovakia DO attend in 2015. It may seem slightly injust, however we have to draw the line somewhere. This year's data will be vital to determine something more akin to a proper standing for those teams.
Follow me beyond the break for diachronic and synchronic analyses of these team's faction choices.

Khador 2015, Part 14 - Observations on the Core Countries
So, after we established last time that Khador is not the most rail-roaded faction with regards to listbuilding (that's Trollbloods), we'll do sth more sophisticated this time around. We'll arbitrarily group the participating countries into three categories, to make it a) easier to choose whom to bet money on, and b) observe the choices made by the more successful teams regarding list pairings, team composition and other drivel.
Follow me beyond the gap to the shenanigans, and hopefully, interesting graphics.

Pressure Cooker #2 - Redux
Played a fully painted game on the weekend! If you came here from Youtube - you're gadget-savvy, and know that Harkevich won against Gorten by assassination, top of five.
VIP: Definitely the Spriggan. His Reach, combined with the MOV bonus from Escort, really allowed him to contribute his power to two locations instead of one.
VUP: If I have to choose somebody - and I have to - I'll choose the Kodiak. The Marauder bullied his flag (and did three Combo-Smites), and the Kodiak heavily contributed with two Chain Attacks, he didn't kill anything (which the Devastator did do), and one of those 2h-Throws almost cost me the game.
Biggest Blunder: Staying put with Harkevich, when protective terrain was easily within reach was certainly unnecessarily risky, but 2h-throwing the Driller towards Gorten gave Fiona an opportunity which she wouldn't have had if I only threw him straight towards her table edge.
Army Changes: Take out a Jack - probably the Kodiak, since his abilities are pretty redundant in this type of list, and put in any kind infantry, most likely Winterguard, though. Anything that can screen Harkevich.
Above all, playing fully painted is awesome. And getting in a batrep where we were able to reset the models so accurately that we could play out a different ending? Big fat bonus.
So, until next time, farewell!

Creativitymachine - Fiona the Radiant
So, as follow-up to the last Creativitymachine, I present to you my wife's Warcaster on the gaming table. This homebrew was led in design by two (and a half) ideas: 1) She's got a great distaste of injustice - the prime time to use the phrase "...in the name of Justice" [that's a Sailor Moon reference - deal with it]; 2) Her nickname's Fiona - so how about an "evil" twin (which by math laws has to be the good one, then)?
If you need to take it, here's the break:

Compromised by an imperial spy - The Arides redux
As most of you have read by now, Marth was forced to drop out from the Cantina Games V which left me as the only "Ubernoob" in the Rookie Tournament. And as a spoiler I still won't consider myself an experienced player...

Khador 2013 Part 16 - Those last points
![]() |
| Surprisingly accurate. |
"What am I going to get myself for these last points I have left over?"
The actual difficulty in answering that question differs from faction to faction (I'm looking at Minions here), and this article will attempt to take the bull by the horns - we're going to list all 1-,2-,3- and 4-point options Khador has available, comment on their plausability or catches (list-building-wise), and try to arbitrarily rate them as objectively as possible. Enjoy!

Marth & the Machines #77 - Gorten v. Ossrum
So, after a long wait, I/we finally finished this battle report! Watch as first, General Ossrum and Gorten Grundback go up against each other in a 50pt battle of "Restoration" (from SR 12 - just a small indicator how long this took), and second, my recap of Bonn's first cantina games! (end of June, there will be the 3rd Cantina games. Just another indicator of how long this took...)
Enjoy!

Marth & the Machines #76 - Vladimir v. Gorten & the faded black T-shirt
In this (horribly delayed) issue of Marth & the Machines, we're bringing you a custom scenario tailor-made for Halloween, where Vladimir Tzepesci and Gorten Grundback encounter each other - and the Nightmare Tower. Afterwards, more coverage from last year's tourneys. Enjoy!

*Count Tzepesci & The Risen
I'm not an exact fan of the usual Alexia Ciannor & the Risen models, Alexia herself in particular. Don't get me wrong, I love Alexia Xp, and plan on painting her horse like the Ghost Rider's, but the prime model... naaaw. Which is a sad thing, because the unit is very good and would make a sensible addition to my infantry Khador stuff. (That, and Risen are better at jamming because they come back, and are way cheaper than Kayazy or Pikemen which die just as easy these days...)
Lo' and behold, I've run into this gentleman who apparently would be a nice stand-in. This is the Vampire Count model from Freebooter, and as the caption reads, he's got all he needs - a single, elegant sword. Yes, I'm aware of Alexia's Handcannon, but I seriously can't find it on her model as well. Formerly, I had considered as a Vladimir, Dark Prince stand-in, but he'd need to sword to work (and serious shoulder-paddage).
I'm mostly set on using him for Alexia. The good thing is: I can just buy Risen blisters till I have enough - and when I have to have the original for attending a tournament where this stand-in wouldn't suffice, I can just buy the original box, too. That should give me the 20 Risen I can have and a "real" Alexia.
Also, I'm looking forward to making this guy part of any coming Halloween/Nightmare Scenarios (like the one we'll play in M&tM #76). I can easily imagine him, standing on top off the tower, gathering souls and "guiding" Thralls. But for that to really work, I first need a suitably converted Tower. Till then, farewell!

Artwork & Battery 01
So, for some, these might be old news - but I guess that for enough people, it's not. My brother, Arides, also has a Youtube channel, which he uses to show off painting & similar topics. It'll be regularly featured here (that is, whenever he has the time to make an episode) to up this blog's painting game. Enjoy!

Marth & the Machines #75 - Sorscha Xp v. Gorten & Base, Body, and Beyond
Late issues are late, but the wait is hopefully worth it. We're having a battle between Sorscha Xp and Gorten, as well as another issue of Base, Body, and beyond - on the manhunter.
Enjoy!

In issue #74, Izak Harkevich and Gorten Grundback face off again - in 28 points of Diversion, sporting scared old men, drunk Ogrun, and angy women. And Bunnies!

Marth & the Machines #73 - Harkevich v. Gorten & HME!
For issue seventy-three, first Izak Harkevich and Gorten Grundback descend into the Mosh Pit with 25 points of companions, and then, we check on how (and if) Stryker manages to escape from the Butcher of Khardov. Enjoy!

Marth & the Machines #71 - Butcher v. Gorten
In issue #71, two tanks go up against each other, one backed with a lot of experience but a not-top-notch army, the other with a lot less experience, but good coaches. It's 31 points of Overrun, and the adversaries are the Butcher of Khardov and Gorten Grundback, big angry axe man and little hammer dude. And afterwards, we will be having the first installment of "The Faded Black T-Shirt." Enjoy!

So, apparently, somebody had to let off some steam. Here's my
brothers "rant", if you will, on Cygnar-Merc crossovers, Merc
