Khador 2015 - Part 18: Conquest v. Behemoth Juxtaposition

In the last article, I did a little preparation for ClogCon by running my two lists through a theoretical gauntlet. I might do that again.

However, in this article I want to compare the Conquest to the Behemoth with regards to my lists - because I've heard a bunch of good arguments  for swapping them around.  And afterwards, I might just do another round of Irish Roulette.

Khador 2015 - Part 17 - WTC Roulette No.1

So, there's a thing you can do with all the WTC lists - Steamroller Roulette. It works this way:
 * Work out a two-list pairing you're going to bring.
 * Pick a team from the WTC lineup (most recent event, generally).
 * Evaluate your match-ups Round by Round as if you were paired against each player during the tournament. Assume D&C as you want, I'll go with 0.

There are a number of advantages to this theorymachining - the lists were created for a hypothetical meta, which is highly comparable with going to a meta where you've never been before, for example.

I went with a random number, and got 42 (D'uh!). I choose the leaderboard order of teams, and draw...

Khador 2015, Part 15 - Observations on the Competitor Countries

Last time, we defined who qualifies as a Core Country for WTC (any country with a team in the top ten ('14) AND the top 6 ('13)), and looked at their team compositions faction wise.

This time, we'll look at the Competitor Countries - made up out of all those that had a team in EITHER the top 10 ('14) or the top 6 ('13). The Competitors are:

Australia*, Austria, Denmark, Germany, Scotland, Slovakia

Expected are greater swings in Faction choices, just to regurgitate that info.

*I am very well aware that the Australians did not, in fact, attend '13 WTC. So did about ten other countries. Neither Austria nor Slovakia DO attend in 2015. It may seem slightly injust, however we have to draw the line somewhere. This year's data will be vital to determine something more akin to a proper standing for those teams.

Follow me beyond the break for diachronic and synchronic analyses of these team's faction choices.

Khador 2015, Part 14 - Observations on the Core Countries

So, after we established last time that Khador is not the most rail-roaded faction with regards to listbuilding (that's Trollbloods), we'll do sth more sophisticated this time around. We'll arbitrarily group the participating countries into three categories, to make it a) easier to choose whom to bet money on, and b) observe the choices made by the more successful teams regarding list pairings, team composition and other drivel.

Follow me beyond the gap to the shenanigans, and hopefully, interesting graphics.

Marth & the Machines #78 - Caine v. Ravyn

We continue the pseudo-plot around Allister Caine and his gang, and this time he is haunted by lost (as in: ditched) love. Ravyn's back with an attitude and aiming to put him down with authority!
35 points, killing fields, and afterwards, more tournament fails than even you can handle.

Enjoy!

Theatre of War Mk II - Campaign Round 1 Redux

I promised "full" coverage over on dicerage.com, but it's not going to be fully "full". Doing each match is tedious work and probably not as thrilling. So therefore, I'll be giving you a redux each round, covering the situation at the start of the round, the orders given, the conflicts ensuing, and their resolution. I'll try to wedge in pictures where possible and present. I'll also give some insight into the ongoing changes to the system and the specials that'll kick in. Enjoy!

Marth & the Machines #57 - Butcher v. Garryth

In this issue, the Butcher takes on the elvish assassin, as both fight for control over the Mosh Pit. See how one of them pulls his own weight in a well coordinated attack to win out over the other. Enjoy!

Vyros/Ossyan Combi-list

Back when the Retribution of Scyrah was brand-new and shiny, I got hooked by Vyros' background, and tried out his original tier list in a Battle Report. With Wrath, Lord Arcanist Ossyan came, and his background was also very appealing to me. So it was set that I'd get into Retribution as a secondary faction sooner or later.

But with me being prone to spending as few cash as possible, how could I play these two, basically different warcasters without creating two inherently different armies, I thought?

The answer:

Marth & the Machines #41 - Zerkova v. Garryth

Here's the forty-first instalment of M&tM, with a battle report about a tense 17 point battle between the Howling Wolves and the Retribution of Scyrah! Enjoy.

Dawnlord Vyros "Dawn's Talon" Tier List

The most recent NQ held another set of "Tiers of Distinction." The one they presented for Dawnlord Vyros was particularly interesting to me. Let's face it - Retribution Tier Lists stood at the start of Mk II developments, they were the first of their kind - and you can tell it by looking at them. Here, I'm going to take a look at what I consider a revamped Vyros Tier first and foremost. Enjoy!

Marth & the Machines #36 - Sorscha Kratikoff Triple Feature

Hey folks, this is No 36. of Marth and the Machines, featuring three games with Kommander Sorscha Kratikoff. One against Kara Sloan, one against Asheth Magnus, and one against Garryth. The first one is the main feature (all were over by the bottom of round two), the other two are highly abbreviated - because the pictures were lost, unfortunately. Still, enjoy!

Warmachine - Siege Engines

So, this week Privateer Press "spoon-fed" us one major faction siege engine a day. Khador Gun Carriage, Cryx "Big Daddy Machine Wraith", Retribution Arcantrik Generator, Cygnar Storm Strider, Protectorate Vessel of Judgement. And I while I'm not going to make a final statement until I see rules, I do have an opinion.
